On September 19, 2015, the Parole Board hosted the Georgia Chapter of NOBLE (National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives). Board Member Braxton Cotton is a member of NOBLE.

At the meeting, members heard from retired U.S. Navy Captain Donnie Cochran who also commanded the Blue Angels. The meeting gave the Board the opportunity to "build upon existing relationships and allows for our staff to have additional exposure to excellent organizations," said Rita Rocker, Deputy Executive Director of the Parole Board.

Board Member Albert Murray attended the summer training conference of the American Correctional Association in August. While in Indianapolis, Murray took the opportunity to attend Indiana Parole Hearings. Murray attended at the invitation of Indiana Parole Chair Gwen Horth. State Board of Pardons and Paroles Vice Chairman James Mills was the guest speaker at the Hall County Rotary Club on August 18, 2015. Vice Chairman Mills spoke about the Board's constitutional responsibility to determine which offenders can be safely paroled to communities as he gave the club members and overview of the Parole Board.

Life sentenced inmates graduating from a Dept. of Corrections' program at Phillips State Prison, received a visit from parole officials in July. Inmates serving life but with the possibility of parole were addressed by Board Vice Chairman James Mills, Executive Director of Parole Chris Barnett and Hearing Examiner Crystal Moon. Life sentenced inmates are eligible for parole based on when they committed their crime resulting in the life sentence.
