SELECTION CRITERIA
The FSA Fund Insights Directory has 15 asset classes . FE chose these categories of funds because they are representative of the major asset classes for the products available in Asia and represent a large percentage of wealth management sales .
To be listed in the directory , each mutual fund ( ETFs were omitted ) first had to be for sale in Hong Kong , Singapore or both jurisdictions . At the end of March 2016 , each fund had to be at least three-years old and hold a minimum $ 20m in assets under management .
Using the stringent filters above , we nonetheless have over 1,300 funds listed , indicating the continuous expansion of product choices in the region over the last 10 years .
FE CROWN RATING FE ADVISORY 100
The FE Crown Ratings system assesses a fund on three key elements : alpha , volatility and consistency of outperformance over a three-year period .
The crown system has long been used by leading investment professional to help identify the strongest performing and most suitable funds in Hong Kong and Singapore and forms an integral part of any fund due diligence process .
The funds included in this publication may also invest in derivatives , which can involve material risks , eg counterparty default risks and insolvency risk , and may expose the fund to significant losses .
Each fund listed in this directory has a different risk profile . The funds may fall in value and therefore investments in these funds may suffer losses .

In both the directory and sponsored enhanced listings , all performance figures and other data are to 31 March 2016 unless otherwise specified and all currencies have been converted to US dollars .
