Steps to Success
in ANY Business
In 1998, University of Central Florida President John C. Hitt, Ph.D., invited Roger Pynn
to speak during commencement. Although grateful for the opportunity to speak at his
alma mater, Pynn knew it was a tall order to deliver an address in front of hundreds
of graduates and their families. When he wasn’t sure what to say, President Hitt
suggested Pynn turn over his business card – where Curley & Pynn’s Four Steps to
Professional Success were printed.
The steps illustrate the founding philosophy of Curley & Pynn, but while they—and a fifth step added later—drive the culture
at one of Orlando’s first public relations firms, they are not exclusive to public relations. Rather, they represent a business
philosophy that can be applied to any business.
