MOGS Kneeler Morning
For many years now, the Mothers
of Old Guildfordians (MOGS) have
been lovingly mending the Kneelers
in the Chapel. Considering they were
first sewn by parents, staff, friends,
grandmothers, Old Boys and their wives
between 1964 and 1971, the kneelers
have stood the daily wear and tear of
countless Chapel services very well.
Some have survived better than others
but by renewing the stitching and cross
stitch, the MOGS are hoping to extend
their use for many more years.
The morning was attended by Janet
West, Marlene Green, Pam Cherriman,
Gay Dunlop, Grace Snooke, Maria Hart,
Charlotte Osborne, Judy Acaster and
Rosemary Waller. Our Chaplain, Rev. Dr
Philip Raymont arrived just in time for
the group photo and a coffee and chat
with the MOGS.

Friends of the Senior
School (FOSS)
FOSS (Friends of the Senior School) is a group of enthusiastic
parents who meet once a month to discuss events that can be
held at school to bring the community together. We always
welcome new ideas, to keep our events fresh, but some events
are also tried and tested and show their return each year due
to the overwhelming response from the community.
It is a joyous privilege to serve in the varying roles on this
committee; great friendships are formed and there is always
sadness when people move on as their time at this school
comes to an end. There is always room for more members at
any time of the year, we understand we are all busy people
and even if you can only do one small task during the year it
means a lot to others.
Over the year we host various functions. Some events to
keep an eye out for during the year include the Bush Walk in
August, Dads’ Breakfast in September and the Art Exhibition
and High Tea in October. Please keep an eye on the Bulletin
and the Coming Events page on the School’s website for
information on these coming events.
On Wednesday 27 May, Senior School mums were treated to
a spectacular evening of fine dining and entertainment at the
FOSS Twilight Dinner.
Our guests enjoyed an inspiring and historical speech by
past parent and first female Fellow of Council, Brenda
Mazzucchelli, followed by an unforgettable performance
by Old Boy of the School Izaak Lim (Sc 94-06) and Kahan
vanSambeek.
Our thanks to everyone involved in making this evening so
very special for our parents.
