SENIOR SCHOOL

Guildford Grammar School on the road … again !

As part of our marketing strategy to meet new and existing boarding families , staff from the School regularly travel to various agricultural field days around the State . These days are always a great opportunity for us to catch up with Old Guildfordians , talk to current parents and meet some of our future parents .
This year for the first time our Enrolments Team exhibited at the Mundella Everywoman Expo , held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre . As the only school exhibiting , we had the opportunity to share information with well over 300 families . One of the drawcards for our stand was a competition to win one of four signed Maggie Dent books . The first prize winner not only won a book , but a personalised tour of the school with Mr Clark Wight , Head of the Preparatory School !
Staff from across the school travelled to represent the School in 2016 , speaking with many of our Old Guildfordians , current and prospective families throughout the Wheat Belt , Pilbara and Southern regions , even travelling to the Northern Territory . We were proud to exhibit at the following field days ; Wagin Woolorama , Darwin Agricultural Show , Karratha FeNaCING , Mingenew Field Day , Dowerin Field Day , Newdegate Field Day , and the Esperance and Districts Agricultural Show .
In addition to exhibiting at the field days , we also hosted breakfast functions in Darwin , Karratha and Esperance and thank all who attended . We look forward to hosting more functions in 2017 and connecting with more of our wonderful families .
For our local families , the School holds one tour day each term , to showcase our wonderful campuses and to enable prospective families to catch a glimpse into what our students across the Preparatory and Senior campuses do on a normal school day . Ordinarily , each of these tours sees between 100-120 guests tour the classrooms and the magnificent campus grounds , speaking to staff and students and getting a feel for what it ’ s like to be a student at our great school .
Often , following the tours , we receive positive feedback about the wonderful opportunities the students here at Guildford Grammar School have access to and commenting on the exemplary manners that the students display . It is not unheard of for a prospective student to start at the school the very next week , such is the positive impact !
In November , for the first time the Preparatory School held a special “ Have you ever wondered day ”, opening up the Preparatory School for those who always wondered what it was like , try out the facilities and experience a typical primary school morning .
Our Preparatory School teachers , along with Clark Wight and Janet Wilmot , gave up their Saturday morning to run a myriad of exciting early primary and senior primary activities to prospective students . Students spent the morning , rotating through several activities , taking home with them , a ‘ show bag ’ full of fun .
The Community Relations team looks forwards to 2017 and showcasing our wonderful School across the State once again .
