Richard Moore (Prep 1942-1945), a Major
and Military Knight of Windsor, has been
appointed a Member of the Royal Victorian
Order (MVO) in the 2015 Queen’s Birthday
Honours list. It is an Imperial award that is
entirely within the Queen’s personal gifts, for
services to the Crown, with no political or any
other influence. Richard and his wife Jenny are
very grateful and humbled .
Phillip Tickle (SG 1944-1946) sadly passed
away on 11 August 2015 from an aortic
aneurysm. Phil was a tremendous community
worker with four life memberships and he was
a Melvin Jones Fellow for Lions International.
He was very proud of Guildford Grammar
School and had high principles. He attributed
some of his core ideals to the grounding he
received at the School.
Robert ‘Bob’ Clark (Stirling 1948-1952), who
was a day boy, followed his father and uncles to
Guildford Grammar School. Bob excelled in sport
and captained the 1st XI Cricket team in 1952.
He was also a member of the Old Guildfordians
A3 Grade Premiership Hockey Team in 1956.
He married schoolteacher Sue Brazier in 1963
and they had three children. After a few years
doing accountancy, Bob was ordained into the
Christian Ministry with the Baptist Churches
of WA 1962-2008, spending 20 of those
years as the State Director. In 2005 he was
awarded a Member of the Order of Australia
(AM) for service to the Baptist Churches of
Western Australia through the establishment of
education programs for theological students,
primarily linked with the Pastoral Studies at
