PR E PA R ATORY S C HO OL Guildford falls down the rabbit hole Benjamin Hewett. In Term 2, the Year 6 cohort went from uniforms and textbooks to costumes and makeup, and put on a full scale production of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr. The production was held in the David Lawe Davies Centre over two nights in July. Sold out crowds watched Alice chase the White Rabbit, race the Dodo Bird, get tied up with the Tweedles, rap with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar and beat the Queen of Hearts at her own game! We were blessed this year to work with such an amazing group of students, and were impressed with the skills and overall attitude of the Year 6 students. Involvement in a project such as this helped teach the importance of teamwork, respect and regard for self and others. Strong commitment was particularly evident from those students who may not have received their role of choice, but still showed dedication and enthusiasm during every rehearsal. For many of these Year 6 students, Alice in Wonderland was their first big stage experience. Being part of a musical production, the students had an opportunity to sharpen their singing, dancing, drama and stagecraft skills. Each performance, despite some nervousness and the mandatory hiccups, had some shining moments. We were excited and extremely proud of every student. I would like to tha
