Lokhai Primary School is located in Sya Sang village of Sorkhrod District, about 7 kilometers west of Jalalabad proper. The number of students at this school is 308, from 150 families recently returned from Pakistan. According to the last survey conducted on January 16, 2016 by CAI partner Star of Knowledge (SKO), the school has 2,000 square meters of space allocated, but no buildings, no boundary walls, no toilets, and no water well. There are only two old tents used as classrooms. Thus, due to lack of tents, the students come in two shifts (morning and afternoon). They use a plastic carpet laid down in the open air for the school office. The school is impoverished, with not even the most basic resources. 10 | Kamp-e Farm Hada School Funds needed: $50,000 30 TENTS = $6,000 for 3,035 students SUPPLIES: Stationary, books, school bag, uniform, plastic carpet, portable toilets, blackboard, and sports equipment CENTRAL ASIA INSTITUTE
