The regular menu at the Twisted Frenchman is seasonal, but a sample of what to expect during this upcoming restaurant week includes Scottish salmon, with Béarnaise sauce, smoked pomme puree, braised leeks, and lavender. Also available is the squab, served with barley risotto, micro turnips, foie gras snow, and a champagne mustard sauce. Looking for gourmet without the hefty price tag? Head to BRGR during restaurant week, where you’ll find a $20 special that includes two Average Joe burgers, 2 PBR’s, and a side of fries. The Average Joe burger is served on a bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, and with or without cheese. You can add a fried egg, bacon, or avocado for $1. Other burgers worth an order are the Smokehouse Bison and the Grazed & Confused. The Smokehouse Bison is a bison patty with a BBQ-chipotle aioli, smoked cheddar, mushrooms, onion straws and Jalapeños. The Grazed & Confused burger is made with a 7 oz. grass-fed angus beef patty, oven roasted tomatoes, marinated vegetables and Portobello, fresh herbs, mozzarella, and balsamic vinaigrette, all piled high on a wheat bun. Chicago is famous for their amazing eateries, and Restaurant Week for this city starts on January 27th and runs until February 9th, 2017. This 14-day long dining adventure brings out the best of Chicago, with special prix fixe menus starting at only $22 for lunch and brunch, which is new and exclusive for 2017. Dinner menus are priced between $33-$44, and will vary depending on the fare. Participating restaurants will be announced as the dates get closer, but some restaurants to keep on the radar are definitely in the Fulton Market district. With many up and coming restaurants, as well as old favorites, you don’t want to miss out on this vibrant and eclectic neighborhood. Duck Duck Goat is a newer diner in the area, by Top Chef alum Stephanie Izard. Expect contemporary takes on Chinese cuisine, with noodle dishes, dumplings, and innovative rice creations.
