The Homeplace is located on a 600-acre farm that was built by the Morgan family in 1907 . The original farmhouse was restored to its former glory and opened as The Homeplace in 1982 . Since then , The Homeplace has been filling bellies and warming hearts , and leaving its legacy to echo throughout the entire Appalachia .

Therefore , spend this winter season at the Telluride Ski Resort in Colorado , where you can glide down alpine slopes and end the night with a glass of brandy by the stone fireplace .
Some would argue that Allred ’ s Restaurant , located inside the resort , is a main factor in the decision-making process that leads visitors to booking a stay . Accessible only by gondola above Telluride , this restaurant comes with a priceless view . The vast backdrop of steep mountains dusted with still-falling snow , make dinner by the window a must . Reservations are recommended and window seats cannot be reserved , they are on a first come basis , so get there early and you will likely get the best seat in the house .
Allred ’ s uses all locally-grown organic products and the menu selection is beautifully mapped out , with a separate young adult menu ! The main menu features table snacks , such as potato croutons or a nut trio , along with appetizers like crispy fried green tomatoes or wagyu beef carpaccio , served with arugula , frisée , ciabatta croutons , red wine vinaigrette , parmesan cheese , and shaved chives .
For dinner , try the bourbon-marinated elk loin . This tender meat is served with an apricot whole grain mustard compote , broccolini , roasted pistachios , caramelized onions , sautéed fingerling potatoes , and watercress . If you would like something lighter , go for the day boat Alaskan halibut with butter poached red crab , a tomato vinaigrette , arugula , petite basil , blistered heirloom cherry tomatoes , and braised fennel .
