The museum is beautifully decorated for the holidays with a spectacular Christmas tree decorated in the colors of the Zorayda, red and gold. More than 100 candles are aglow throughout the museum as docents lead the tour by candlelight. Refreshments are served at 6 p.m.; tour begins at 6:30 p.m. (5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on December 3). Tours last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Refreshments include homemade cookies, holiday punch and coffee. Admission is $18 adults; $8 children 7-12; free for children 4-6. Beginning on the cotton farm in Louisiana, Tony Joe White learned to play his father’s guitar by ear. On his latest album, entitled Hoodoo, White continues to produce an ethereal, authentic bayou guitar trance. Awash in danger, spiritual uncertainty, and environmental fury, the album’s lyrical concerns are matched by a particularly intense strain of White’s trademark swamp funk.
