The conference , held at Flagler College , brings together writers , editors , agents , publishers , book sellers , grant administrators , directors of writers ’ colonies and retreats , and other interested people in one place . November 4-6 St . Augustine Pirate Gathering The St . Augustine Pirate Gathering is coordinated by the Ancient City Privateers and features a pirate mutiny , weapons demonstrations , sailor ’ s encampment , Thieves Market , stories of the high seas , shanties and a wee matey ’ s play area . All pirates welcome , so come ashore dressed in your best piratical pirattitude and enjoy a weekend of fun . The event is from 1-10 p . m . on Friday , 10 a . m . -10 p . m . on Saturday and 10 a . m . -5 p . m . on Sunday .
