Gross said he has
seen firsthand what can
happen to family farms,
and a community when
things go wrong.
Because his family
was unable to help him
continue farming, Gross
moved on to college and
became an airline pilot.
He has been flying for
31 years, 27 of those
years professionally.

be something I can do at home.”
When people would ask what he wanted to do when
he retired, Gross said he’d reply by saying he would buy
