Goals
1. To help the student prepare for the physical and emotional
changes he/she will undergo during puberty.
2. To help the student adjust successfully to new and changing
social situations.
3. To encourage the student to develop healthy attitudes
concerning adolescent growth and development, body image,
gender roles, sexual orientation, dating, marriage, and family.
4. To help the student develop healthy attitudes toward members
of both sexes.
5. To help the student develop an understanding and appreciation
of the life cycle, reproduction, and heredity.
6. To help the student develop increased knowledge of the family
and its importance in development of healthy personalities and
good citizens.
7. To help the student develop healthy and honest
communication with parents, teachers, and peers.
8. To develop a realistic positive body image.
9. To develop an appreciation for the value of all others
regardless of who they are.
10. To accurately and comprehensively present information
according to state legislation and standards for health
education.
