You have been given eternal life; a life in Heaven, free from burning eternally in Hell. Why not just pass on this one, two or several? Why insult God by continuing to be sinful in nature, just because you can? After all, there is still that matter of arrogance and pride that is keeping you in jeopardy of spiritual death. There are those two words again. You probably thought we were past that, after all, if all of your sins are forgiven then what is this spiritual death? Mentioned earlier, spiritual death here is relative to being separated from God as a result of intentional sin. If you accept God as your savior, you commit to growing and walking in faith, then the spirit of salvation is in your heart and soul. It’s more than a momentary or one-time promise, for you are fulfilling a lifelong commitment to your Father. In return, he has already taken all of your sins off the table. Jesus died on the cross for you. He was ridiculed, mocked, whipped, and tortured, and yet, for you, he did it all. You were not even born, but still, for you he gave all. You have committed some sins. God is saying, “That’s okay, I love you.” “Accept salvation, and do your best in the future.” He’s not saying, well, okay, but if you do it again, all bets are off. This is your Father and he loves you for all the good and all the bad in you. All he wants is you to commit to him to be with him in Heaven for eternity. Rebuke Satan and tell others how to do the same. He knows you aren’t perfect now, and he doesn’t expect you to be. How wonderful of a Father is that! Maybe you aren’t a Christian, or you aren’t saved, and you think, “This doesn’t even apply to me!” You know what, it really does, because God loves you. He wants your picture right there on the refrigerator by mine. And if you don’t want to put that selfie there, well it is up to me to photo bomb you and get it up there anyway I can. It’s up to me to show you and to tell you what you are missing. And it’s up to me to pray for you, because one day the walls will come down. It may be with when you are hurting, when you need something or someone to listen, or you may say, “I am so tired of everything just falling apart around me.” “Why can’t life go smooth once in a while?” Let me help you, or let someone help you. Maybe you think, “I have done way too much, too many bad things, you just don’t understand.” If that’s you, then remember this one verse~ 2 Corinthians 5:19 ~ God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them. God’s plan is to bring you home one day. Forget about what you have done. He has! Ask him for forgiveness, for you. Ask him for salvation, for him. And then, SMILE!
