Praying Beyond By Dr. Stan DeKoven A few years back I was in a prayer meeting, and frankly, I was a bit bored. It was not just the folk’s prayers that bored me, but my own, for they are quite honestly almost totally focused on self. As I listened into the prayers of the saints (and myself way too often), I was appalled to find that most prayers were concerned about me, myself and I. This awareness set me on a biblical search for the priorities of God; essentially, I know that if I prayed the priorities of G od, I would be praying with purpose and focus…. thus my question became, what does God want? In response to this most important question, I first visited the famous conversation between God the Father and the preincarnate Christ in Ps. 2: It reads “Ask of Me, and I shall give the nations for Your inheritance; and the uttermost parts of the earth for Your possession.” (Ps. 2:8, NKJV) Another version states, “What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? Conti-
