ing the theory, I found recording
to be more effective. There were
simply too many details I missed
by not recording my dreams.
Once the dream is recorded you
will want to either write or type (in
an online journal) so you have a
tangible record to go back to.
Discover the meaning - In some
cases a dream or vision can be
literal, and will not require much
processing. However, there are
those that are very symbolic and
take a little bit of work to determine what is being said. In the
case of the second, process
your dream through the word,
and also outline what is meaningful to you. During my time of
processing a dream or vision
I will have scriptures pop up in
my mind. I will look those up to
see if there is a similar imagery
or meaning attached that is significant to my dream. I recently
attended a dream & vision class
led by Apostle Jane Hamon at
my local church. She addressed
how we as Christians want to
steer away from looking up symbolism. There are a plethora of
resources online, but how do we
know the symbol to be what God
was pointing out to us? Since
God is a personal God, He is
going to communicate with us
in a personal way that we will
understand. For example, a dog
may be a loving animal to one
person, or a threat to another.
This example, provided by Apostle Jane, has opened me to a
new way of exploring my dreams
and visions. To further this point,
Genesis 40:5 points out that the
cupbearer and baker who were
in prison with Joseph had unique
dreams. The text states “the cupbearer and the baker of the king
of Egypt, who were being held in
prison—had a dream the same
night, and each dream had a
meaning of its own.”
