The Root Of Bitterness

Chances are you have been wronged in your life . Someone has hurt you , betrayed you , cheated you , left you , taken from you , and the list goes on and on . The problem is : the enemy wants to keep you in a place where that hurt stays in your heart , building up a hardened shell around you

so that you never let it go . That is not what God wants for you and not how he designed relationships to go . That hardened shell around your heart is : Bitterness . Bitterness is something that does not just go away . It is a stronghold ; it becomes chained to us , holding us back from the blessing God has in stored for us . It takes root in your soul and comes out in many different ways that until you dig deep down to the root , it will not go away .
First let ’ s take a look at what the bible says about bitterness .
Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you , along with all malice . Be kind to one another , tenderhearted , forgiving one another , as God in Christ forgave you .
Hebrews 12:14-15 Strive for peace with everyone , and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord . See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God ; that no “ root of bitterness ” springs up and causes trouble , and by it many become defiled ;
We see Hebrew ’ s warns us against the root of bitterness ‘ springing up and causing trouble .’ The Bible paints a pretty clear picture for us to show us
