in our quest of being ambassadors for Christ and spreading the gospel . As we strive to replicate Jesus , we may wonder , was He not meek ? Jesus was and is the all powerful , reining King of Kings . He has no equal , none can compare to Him . He had the power to take Himself down from the cross and halt his execution , although he didn ’ t . He had the power to loosen Himself from the grip of the soldier that held Him to be taken to his death , though he remained bound for you and I . Jesus was gentle , sacrificing Himself and laying down His life , and now is seated at the right hand of the Father . We too , are called to represent ourselves with meekness , as we shall inherit the blessings of from our Father on this earth .
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness , for they shall be satisfied . The Bible records Jesus being angry in the temple due to the disrespectful misuse of His Father ’ s temple ( Matthew 21:12 ). Jesus actually turned over tables and flipped chairs . He was angered , but for righteousness sake . You and I should be angered at the injustices against our Father in this world , as well . When people make mockery out of the Lord and His ways , it should anger us . When we see this generation turning away from the Lord and toward sin it should disgust us . Not that we should judge , but rather we should be so in love with God and His holiness and perfect ways that anything that goes against Him would absolutely break our hearts . Hunger for holiness and thirst for righteousness , and surely , God will satisfy you .
Blessed are the merciful , for they shall receive mercy . I once heard a pastor say , “ We don ’ t throw stones , we throw ropes , and we pull people out of stuff .” You and I are not God , did you know that ? Sometimes we get so encapsulated in attaining our own holiness and believing we have it “ figured out ” that we believe it is our job to judge everyone else . God has shown the utmost mercy and grace to you and me , even though we didn ’ t deserve it . A God that gave us everything , who is Just , Holy , and Perfect , gave us His only Son and showed mercy against our sins . If He can do that , while we were sinners still sending His
