GOD SPEAKS THROUGH
DIVINE REVELATION

The word “ revelation ” comes from the Greek word apokalupis , which means “ a disclosure ” or “ an unveiling .” Spirit-enlightened Christians are given the capacity to comprehend , discern , and know things that are impossible to grasp without God ’ s intervention . 1st Corinthians 13-14 explains that the Holy Spirit illuminates the word of God so that we are equipped to discern divine truth :
This is what we speak , not in words taught us in human wisdom , but in words taught by the
Spirit , expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words . The man without the spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God for they are foolishness to him , and he cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned .
