How I Met My Husband, Ryan
In 2013, about a month after I was hired at Garden of Life,
I was flown to Anaheim, California, for Expo West.
My future husband was out there at the same time for his work
and came by the Garden of Life booth where I was handing
out samples of our protein powders. He made quite the first
impression. He wore the pensive countenance of a Russian
novelist and had the steady stride of an astronaut boarding
a rocket ship. We spoke vaguely of the Vanilla Spiced Chai
(now my favorite flavor), and talked about where we are from and
where we were living. There was something very familiar about
him, and something altogether different. It was very much like
the feeling you have when returning to the place you grew up
after being away for a long time.
