Murphy paused to catch her breath while she stomped around
the modest living room. “She’s gonna catch it when she shows
up. Nonsense. That girl’s head is filled with nothing but
nonsense. Stupid ambition. Just like some little spark that

From the time Laurel was four, Maude always managed to
