GOW 2016 in Latvia was organized by LIKTA
in cooperation with the Ministry of Regional
Development and Environmental Protection.
103 municipalities were involved as regional
coordinators. More than 150 partners–state
organizations, universities, IT companies, NGOs–have
participated in GOW 2016 organization in Latvia.
During the campaign 788 events were organized all
across Latvia attended by 21,952 participants. The

Association “Langas į ateitį” engaged with more
than 300 organisations to partner and run the
campaign activities. A nationwide publicity
campaign was organized together with the news
portal 15min.lt where an introduction to GOW2016
and a number of articles about security on social
networks, skills for jobs or online banking were
published. Press releases were distributed with the
help of BNS news agency to other news portals. A
combination of public libraries’ web sites and local
news portals helped to reach 67,595 people.
Network (LITNET). Both webinars hosted around
15,900 people.
Three radio stations (Opus3, Žinių radijas and LRT
radijas) broadcasted interviews about GOW 2016
activities as well as its mission and purpose. A total
of 350,000 people were reached via these media
channels.
More than 970 events took place across the country
in public libraries, youth job centres, schools, NGOs
and other institutions. One of the largest events was
a technological creativity festival ROBOTIADA 2016
held in LITEXPO Exibition Centre. The organisers
prepared a lot of interesting activities for youngsters
such as interactive robotics, LEGO and technology
exhibition, many workshops.
YouTube was used to broadcast two webinars one from the National Library of Lithuania and the
second one by Lithuanian Research and Education
