GOW 2015 in Latvia started with a high level policy opening event on 23rd of March. The event was moderated by Digital Champion of Latvia Reinis Zitmanis. Two Ministers, a state secretary and ICT sector industry leaders participated at the event, representing the National e-Skills Coalition of Latvia. Event was broadcasted online. A special attention was paid to e-skills for children and the youth. An online discussion was organised about ICT training at schools and telecentres, about best coding experiences and digital tools for children’s education. The 9th edition of RomeCup presented to students from all over Italy success stories made by young people under 30 who have been able to transform robotic solutions into innovative start-ups. “We try to show that the robot can do business,” says Mirta Michilli, General Manager of the Digital World Foundation. “Robotics is an important axis for building youth accelerators to overcome the crisis in a reasonable time.” Schools presented more than 60 prototypes of inventions created by young students, almost all under 18. March 24 was a “You Rock “ day, when Latvian version of YouRock.Jobs platform was presented at telecentre and made available to everyone by online broadcasts. March 25 had a focus on SMEs, while March 27 was dedicated to latest ICT solutions and e-services for municipalities and citizens. During the campaign week online tests and competitions took place, young people being the most active. LITHUANIA http://www.getonlineweek.eu/lithuania/ As a novelty, GOW 2015 in Emilia Romagna was very successful. Over 60 events were organised, thanks to the joint effort by the Regional government and its partners in the Pane e Internet (PeI) project: municipalities, libraries, schools, various Third Sector organisations, the chambers of commerce, private companies and professionals. The GOW clearly demonstrated the power of networking and collaboration among them. The initiatives on “emerging digital professions” showed the importance of making youngsters aware of the new job opportunities continuously created in the digital world, by getting direct testimonials from those working in it. Online events also deserve attention: 11 webinars on e-commerce attracted 1,500 people and the NVR webradio, run by visually impaired staff, talked about an ECDL course for visually impaired people. Altogether about 2,700 people attended GOW events and many who learnt about PeI and its opportunities have already been asking for their continuation or repetition. 16 During the GOW 2015 in Lithuania a considerable publicity campaign was organised and over 637,000 people reached. 2,500 people completed the Skillage test while over 600 registered on YouRock.Jobs platform.
