CYPRUS ESTONIA http://www.cypruscommunitymedia.org/ http://www.getonlineweek.eu/estonia/ For the first time Cyprus Community Media Centre, as part of the project Generation 0101, supported and arranged GOW 2015 activities in Cyprus. CCMC in partnership with 6 other European NGOs and Non-profit organisations, are collaborating to tackle the issue of youth unemployment with project Generation0101. The project aims to build ICT skills and confidence of young people, and thus increase their chances of finding work. Among the activities, CCMC took up a table at The Home Cafe on 26 March, where people could come and learn about the Get Online Week as well as participate with doing the online skills test and other online activities. CCMC hosted a radio show on MyCyRadio discussing digital empowerment and digital inclusion in Cyprus and Europe. DENMARK http://www.getonlineweek.eu/denmark-2/ This year Telecentre-danmark coordinated the GOW 2015 activities. GOW was made part of the daily tuition at ICT centres for seniors and public libraries throughout the country were supplied with the GOW materials. The ICT centres are experienced with the GOW campaign, as most have participated in previous years. Approximately 50 ICT centres participated, some 240 volunteer instructors and approximately 1,740 students visited the ICT centres during the campaign week. On March 26 awareness raising activities on e-skills and the Skillage test run at the TEC – a technical education center for young people between 18 to 29 years old. Telecentre-danmark has made a national agreement with the organization of Danish parish churches to introduce and organise ICT telecentres in connection to their local assembly Halls. This will provide ICT opportunities to parts of the population, normally difficult to reach. 12 First time Estonia used a “Robotics-battle” format for grown-ups. Participants were divided into teams of two and each team had also a young mentor. Adults had 1 hour to fulfill 2 tasks: to build a Sumo-robot (using Lego robotics) and to programme a robot to do certain tasks. The aim of the event was to give hands-on practice and show how exciting learning ICT can be. The main goal is to have more after-school clubs that deal with ICT. They should become as popular as singing and dancing clubs. The event was very successful and was very effective for media attention. For the politicians a white paper was created to highlight the main benefits of kids dealing with ICT from early on. It has a clear impact on their future choices - educational and work related. Smart Work Association recommends similar events to other countries as well. Watch an event video featured on Estonian TV channel. GERMANY Stiftung Digitale Chancen as official Get Online Week partner in Germany opted this year for activities to address both the topic of digital inclusion and the topic of employability. While planning own workshops, trainings, and events, they invited all telecentres in their database to get involved and get people online. As every year the GOW campaign is a big highlight and many telecentres are excited to participate in the German Get Online Week, organise events and workshops. Additionally, Stiftung Digitale Chancen organised, next to workshops and trainings, three big events that supported senior citizens with their first steps using tablets, promoted coding to school kids and fostered the employability of young people with the Internet platform YouRock.Jobs. Furthermore, a regional GOW campaign was launched by a course from the Technical University in Dortmund who invited telecentres and related organizations to take part in the activities and become a GOW-network. 13 http://www.getonlineweek.eu/germany/
