Member Spotlight NAME YEARS IN THE EDUCATION BUSINESS Rebecca Rogers-Kreig 9 TITLE Sr. Product Manager Eureka / COMPANY Paper Magic Group a division of CSS Industries YEARS OF EDmarket MEMBERSHIP 54 WHEN WAS YOUR COMPANY FOUNDED AND HOW? Eureka printing originated in the 1950’s making the S&H Green Stamps. They started adding seasonal artwork to the gummed paper to create lick and stick books. History was made when they created the original gold star sticker. They continued to grow, creating decorative pieces for classrooms and eventually expanding into an extensive product line focused on school décor and educational tools. Much of the older Eureka holiday art used on stickers would be easily recognized by many generations as iconic because of how many teachers across the country used them for so long. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? It was the perfect job for a 16 year old — Swim Teacher and Lifeguard at Camp Archbald in PA (so maybe I have been in the education field longer than I realize). HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN THE EDUCATIONAL PRODUCTS BUSINESS? I had been working at Paper Magic Group in a new product development roll for about 3 years when an assistant product manager position opened on the Eureka “School Team” as we call it. It was an excellent opportunity for me to learn a new product line and grow with-in the company. Since then it has been a fantastic and sometimes grueling journey of bringing Eureka into a new era by adding lots of new products, new artwork and expanding licensed offering. WHAT MAKES YOUR COMPANY UNIQUE? Eureka is a part of Paper Magic Group, which is a subsiderary of the larger company, CSS Industries, that does everything from Christ- 4 essentials | winter 2016
