WHEN WAS YOUR COMPANY FOUNDED AND HOW?
Eureka printing originated in the 1950’s making the S&H Green
Stamps. They started adding seasonal artwork to the gummed
paper to create lick and stick books. History was made when
they created the original gold star sticker. They continued to grow,
creating decorative pieces for classrooms and eventually expanding into an extensive product line focused on school décor and
educational tools. Much of the older Eureka holiday art used on
stickers would be easily recognized by many generations as iconic
because of how many teachers across the country used them for
so long.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?
It was the perfect job for a 16 year old — Swim Teacher and
Lifeguard at Camp Archbald in PA (so maybe I have been in the
education field longer than I realize).
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN THE
EDUCATIONAL PRODUCTS BUSINESS?
I had been working at Paper Magic Group in a new product development roll for about 3 years when an assistant product manager position
opened on the Eureka “School Team” as we call it. It was an excellent
opportunity for me to learn a new product line and grow with-in the
company. Since then it has been a fantastic and sometimes grueling
journey of bringing Eureka into a new era by adding lots of new products, new artwork and expanding licensed offering.
WHAT MAKES YOUR COMPANY UNIQUE?
Eureka is a part of Paper Magic Group, which is a subsiderary of the
larger company, CSS Industries, that does everything from Christ-
