17.5 Every individual entering an area of the Theatre , regardless of age and whether or not they occupy a seat , must be counted towards the occupancy of that area .
Maximum occupancy levels within the Theatre are :

17.6 Supervision of Dressing Rooms and other similar areas used by members of the Hirer is the responsibility of the Hirer who will put in place adequate procedures and personnel for this purpose .
18.0 STEWARDING
18.1 The preservation of proper order both within and outwith the Theatre shall in all cases be the responsibility of the Authorised Officer who is authorised to take any measures necessary to ensure public order and safety . The Hirer will assist in this regard by complying with any reasonable instructions issued by the Authorised Officer .
18.2 For each event in the Theatre Performance Facilities at which members of the public will be present , the Culture and Leisure Trust will provide a maximum of 4 Theatre Stewards at no additional cost to the Hirer .
18.3 For specific events in the Theatre Performance Facilities , for example where large numbers of children or other vulnerable individuals are expected to attend , the Culture and Leisure Trust may require a higher level of stewarding . In such circumstances , the Culture and Leisure Trust will provide additional staff at the Hirer ’ s cost , according to the Schedule of Fees and Charges current at the time of the Let .
18.5 For Lets within the Art Workshop , the provision of sufficient numbers of stewards will be the responsibility of the Hirer .
18.7 It is understood that the primary duty of stewards is to ensure that safe conditions are maintained in the Theatre at all times , and to achieve this , they will :
• Ensure that no overcrowding occurs in any part of the Theatre or foyers ;
• Keep all gangways and exits clear at all times ;
• Prevent standing on seats or furniture ;
• Be aware of any special requirements needed to ensure the safe evacuation of the audience
• Assist in evacuation of the Theatre as and when required
• Monitor access to the areas of the Theatre in which events are taking place and , if necessary , restrict entry to any members of the public in excess of legal capacities .
18.8 For events in the Theatre , the Hirer must notify the Authorised Officer of any ticket sales made to wheelchair-bound audience members , or to any audience members who require the use of a wheelchair to enter or exit the Theatre , at least one week prior to the commencement of the Let .
18.9 Stewards must be readily identifiable to the public at all times . 18.10 The provision of adequate first aid cover for any activity or event is the responsibility of the Hirer .
