Fun fact : Rodriguez and her two girls share a birthday of October 15 . There ' s absolutely no mistaking that the duo belong to their parents as they are spitting images of the two , adobable missing teeth smiles and all . Setting a strong example means a great deal to Rodriguez ; she ' s unhappy with the negative representations of women on social media and TV and wants to let her daughters and young girls know they have options .
" It ' s just important that as I show them that you don ' t have to ( show your body ) to be successful and you don ' t have to do that to make income ," she stated with certainty . " Your looks and your body ... that fades . I want my girls to grow up to be educated with their mind and be able to run circles around somebody with their education , not their bodies ."
A way to exercise that education is through entrepreneurship . Rodriguez continued to explain that as much as she ' d love her daughters to take over the family business , she just wishes they create a legacy of their own . " I do want them to be entrepreneurs and to be independent and to create their own path and make their own way . Like that ' s extremely important to me ."
A true advocate of women entrepreneurship , Rodriguez makes it a point to support women business owners near and far . Whether it be products in gift bags or Monique personally attending or speaking , Mielle Organics can be seen as an active sponsor of many events nationwide .
" I ' m a woman myself and I know how hard it is . If women stick together as one , we are so powerful . I think that we ' re the most powerful creature on this planet ."
