Suicide Silence

Suicide Silence have been screaming kids doors downs for years yet they still remain a major talking point . Having gone through some changes in their time , they ’ re about to release their fifth studio album , one that adds a new sound to their grizzly scope . Ahead of the album release and a UK tour , we caught up with guitarist Mark Heylmun about what ’ s to come .
So , 2014 was the last Suicide Silence album . What ’ s taken you guys so long to come back ? forget about you .” We didn ’ t want to play that game we wanted to do things our own way .
There ’ s a hell of a lot more clean vocals on the new album . What inspired you to make this change ?
The idea of shocking people and the foundation of freedom of expression inspired us . Fearless approach to writing music , turning off the brain and letting ourselves freely communicate through our instruments including the instrument that is the voice .
The record has been done since May of 2016 , there was some scheduling issues that made the record get pushed back . Basically we knew Joe was the man to mix it and we had to wait for him to be available . Also we decided to put more time into the process all around , too much of the music industry is reliant upon deadlines that really have no real merit other than “ hurry up and get a record out so people don ’ t
Off the back of single Doris , some fans haven ’ t been as receptive to your new style as others have . What do you have to say to those people ?
Listen to the whole record . This is the first time you won ’ t be able to sum us up by a single song off it . There ’ s a lot going on on this album and people might have to listen to it a few times .
