We all like to take a trip down memory lane every once in a while . Reminiscing of old times when everything was easier and less complicated . There ’ s absolutely nothing wrong with that ! Sometimes , though , what happened in the past should stay in the past . This is the same for music . Some bands should leave what they have done in the past where they initially left it . The same goes for Busted .
Natives : Before the headline act that everybody ’ s been waiting for is gracing the stage New Forest four piece Indie-Pop band Natives are warming up the rather small crowd .
Only standing in front of a half filled room the band starts out with every member on drums introducing them selves with a hectic and energetic percussion solo . Then when it finally kicks into their first song harmonic synth melodies and intricate drum patterns completely drown out the shy guitar melodies . The harmonic synth melodies are topped off with solid but generic vocals from lead singer Jim Thomas . Pleasant but definitely far from being mind blowing .
The simple light show that stays quite basic throughout the entire set , only occasionally breaking out into flashing , green strobe lighting is able to warm everyone up but no one is really blown out of their seat .
In order to spice things up a little bit the band manages to get the crowd going by connecting and interacting with them in between songs . Nothing remarkable but still fun to watch and participate .
Overall their set is incredibly tight but just nothing special . It is quite obvious , though , that everyone is only waiting for the headliner to come on .
