The Bride Says…
“Work together as a team. Keep your focus on what matters most, forget what you
think you should or shouldn’t do, and go with your heart. This is a celebration of your
love and future together. It will be the most memorable day of your life.”
The Ceremony
Immediate family and close friends joined Robyn and Terence at the Cathedral Mountain
Lodge in British Columbia to celebrate their private ceremony surrounded by nature. Breathtaking mountains provided the perfect backdrop for the outdoor ceremony that included
personal vows, a champagne toast by the river and family photos taken in canoes at Emerald Lake
in Yoho National Park.
The Reception
How They Met
Robyn and Terence met on the way to school when they were 11
years old sitting next to each other on the bus. They soon became
best friends when shared interests in music, reading and outdoor
activities such as canoeing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling brought
them together. Years later, after enduring a three-year, long-distance
relationship during college, Terence asked Robyn to marry him on one of
their favourite trails by carving their initials into a tree.

To include childhood, high school and college friends in the celebrations, Robyn and Terence held
a nature-inspired reception—decorated by Perfect Settings—closer to home in Timmins, Ontario.
A video montage of the ceremony in B.C. was played for guests and the bride made a special toast
to her grandparents who celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary the same day.
The Decor
Birch cutouts, canoe paddles and fresh-baked pies brought Robyn and Terence’s rustic allCanadian reception to life. A wooden backdrop decorated with snowshoes and a destination sign
of all the places the bride and groom have travelled to in Canada were where guests took pictures;
a canopy over the head table draped with sheer linens and fresh flowers served as the star decor
element; and a milk and cookie bar was set up later in the evening as a sweet table.
