ELEGANT WEDDING TORONTO WINTER 2017 | Page 41

Prior to meeting, Jim was interested in Marina but couldn’t find the right opportunity to talk to her. They had mutual acquaintances and frequented the same places but didn’t officially meet until several months later while out with some friends. Both were standing next to the bar, chatting with a mutual acquaintance. Once he left, it was just the two of them and they spoke the rest of the night. Weeks later they started dating. THE RECEPTION Following a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony, Marina and Jim hosted their family and friends to a romantic garden reception full of delicious food. From the grazing station during cocktails to the four-course dinner and late night snack table, plenty of great food was had. An eight-piece band kept the guests dancing throughout the evening (with everything from classic rock to ‘80s dance music and top 40 hits) and instead of choosing a traditional head table, Marina and Jim decided to sit amongst their guests, making it easier to mingle. They also opted out of a traditional guest book, instead having guests write wishes on a large canvas. string lights: R5 Event Design| R5E.ca 39
