NEW BESA BOX ‘ G ’ TYPE SOCKET OUTLET RANGE
Metway Electrical Industries is pleased to announce the launch of its new Besa box socket outlet range , designed to fit standard ‘ G ’ type industry preferred connectors in 3 , 4 and 6-pole versions .
All versions fit straight onto standard round UK plastic or metal BESA / conduit boxes . The 6-pole version is designed with an extra deep mounting plate to accommodate up to 12 1.5mm single conductors ( 6 in / 6 out ), and are supplied in industry standard black / blue mechanical coding .
Typical applications for this type of connector would be any installation that has fire regulations insisting on mechanical containment of cabling within the building fabric . FREE RECYCLING FOR WASTE LAMPS
Recolight provides free collection and free recycling for WEEE lamps . If you collect over 1,000 lamps each quarter , a free container is also provided . For smaller quantities and one off relamp projects Recolight can lease a container to you .
Go to the Recolight website to choose your service , complete the application form , and Recolight will send out your container .
You will be signed up to Recolight ’ s online booking system , Recoweb , where you will be able to complete free consignment notes too .
For very small quantities , Recolight has a network of open drop-off points located at electrical wholesalers across the UK .
Recolight is able to offer a free collection service because of its operation as a nonprofit WEEEE compliance scheme , funded by its Lighting Producer Members .

LIGHT EFFICIENT DESIGN UK LAUNCHES MULTI- DIRECTIONAL RETROFIT LED HIGH BAY
Light Efficient Design UK has launched the LED 8030M high bay retrofit . Replacing up to 400W HIDs with 140W LED , it offers up to 70 per cent energy and carbon savings as well as bright white light (> 80CRI ).
Available in 4,000K and 5,700K CCT , the multidirectional LED 8030M shines light up , down and sideways and retrofits into most existing high bay HID fittings with ribbed perspex diffusers . The 8032M has nearly all downlight for use in metal spun high bay reflectors . This makes it ideally suited for many applications , including large retail , warehouse and industrial spaces as well as leisure environments such as auditoria and gymnasiums .
Installation simply requires bypassing or removal of the existing ballast and directly connecting the lamp holder to the 240V supply . The new retrofit LED lamp is then easily fitted .
With a 50,000-hour rated lamp life , all Light Efficient Design products are backed by a five-year warranty and are CE / ROHS certified .
