“Studying at Napier gave me the foundation of technical knowledge that I would base
my initial working career on. I can remember a few lecturers I liked – Carlo Rinaldi and Ron Manson, and I
think John Smith taught maths. I remember getting a kick out of making traffic lights with NAND and NOR
gates in first year. I also remember someone dropping
a massive load of punched cards containing their software – that’s how advanced we were back then!
