Welcome to winter. With cold and flu season
in full swing, eating right is one way to boost
your immune system. Generally speaking,
filling half your plate with fruits and
vegetables at each meal is a step in the
right direction. These foods are packed
with vitamins A and C. You can get all the
vitamin C you need from foods. Our bodies
can’t store vitamin C, so any extra just gets
peed out.
Eating whole grains, like quinoa, barley and
brown rice, helps supply key B vitamins that
help with revving up our immune cells. And
don’t forget protein-rich foods, like seafood,
fish, eggs, meat and dairy which contain
vitamin B12 and zinc.
