When you hear the term “craft beer,” what comes to
mind? Do you think of microbreweries, breweries that
only sell locally, or ones that are run by just a handful of
people? The Brewers Association defines craft brewers
as “small, independent, and traditional,” but in reality,
everyone has their own opinion of what it means.
Here in Canada, the craft beer movement is gaining
ground. While we don’t have nearly as many breweries
as our neighbours to the south (that number surpassed
4,000 this year!), they are popping up all over the place,
ready to quench Canadians’ thirst for a good beer.
