November 20, 2015 C COUNCIL APPOINTS NEW MAYOR AND MAYOR PRO TEM ITY Effective December 1st, the City of Laguna Niguel will have a new Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. The City Council on Tuesday night unanimously selected Mayor Pro Tem Laurie Davies to serve as Mayor and Council Member Jerry Slusiewicz to serve as Mayor Mayor-Elect Davies Pro Tem for 2016. “I am truly honored to have been chosen by my colleagues to serve in this leadership role and look forward to serving the residents of Laguna Niguel as Mayor,” said Mayor-Elect Davies. Mayor Pro Tem-Elect Jerry Slusiewicz also extended his gratitude and appreciation to his Council colleagues for appointing him to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. “I am both humbled and proud to be the Mayor Pro Tem for the coming year,” said Slusiewicz. “The Mayor, Council Mayor Pro Tem-Elect and I will continue to put forth our Slusiewicz best efforts to lead this great City on the positive path that all of our previous leaders UPCOMING EVENTS Nov. 24 Planning Commission Mtg. I am truly honored,” he said. Both Davies and Slusiewicz were elected to the City Council in 2012. In addition to serving as liaisons to City Commissions and Committees, both represent the City at the regional level. Davies currently serves as the City’s representative to the Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) and the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). She was recently elected President of the Orange County Division of the League of California Cities. Slusiewicz serves as the City’s representative to the Orange County Vector Control Board and the Coastal Greenbelt Authority.
