SCREAM QUEEN
A screaming woman from a 1930s horror film appears to be trapped in the injector hat
on Melanie Salemi’s “Purple Reign” Pro Boost 1968 Firebird as it comes roaring out of
the water box. Salemi drove the G-Force Race Cars-built entry, tuned by her husband,
Jon, to a third-place finish in the PDRA Pro Boost championship chase last season.
Outside of PDRA competition, she also raced on the quarter mile at Summit Motorsports
Park’s Shakedown at the Summit, finishing runner-up to Kevin Fiscus in Outlaw Pro Mod.
