DRINK
No other city has cultivated a culture around
partying quite like this gem of the South. According
to New Orleans, it’s okay to laissez les bon temps
rouler or “let the good times roll,” 24 hours a
day. Sample the specialties like the Ramos Gin
Fizz or Sazerac. If beer is more your thing, try an
Abita Purple Haze or stop at NOLA Brewing (3001
Tchoupitoulas, St) for $3 (10 oz.), $5 (pint) plus free
beer Friday(s) from 2 pm to 3 pm. That’s what they
call lagniappe.
DESTINATION TIP
• Remember to take drinks to-go when
applicable. Just ask your bartender for a “Gocup.” Grab a Hurricane at Pat O’s (624 Bourbon
St.) dueling piano bar then walk to Frenchman
Street where the late night market showcases
local artists, and live music will play well into
the morning.
