ONTARIO - FESTIVAL FEATURE BRRRRR FESTIVAL RETURNS FOR SECOND EDITION IN 2014 Keep those snow boots and jackets out, because Brrrrr Festival is back for a second edition February 2014. This unique festival features a dynamic lineup, with artists like Wolfgang Gartner and Hot Since 82, and features 2 main stages with heated sanctuaries. Holding no warmth to the word ‘beach’, the Festival is to take place at TD Echo Beach, where Digital Dreams was held. If you’re looking for a unique festival experience like no other, read on and see what they bring to the table. We got to speak to Ryan Kruger, Managing Director of Electronic Nation, and here’s what he had to say: DJ MAG CANADA: How was Brrrrr Festival conceived? The mandate of Electronic Nation when it started was to create world-class festivals, and the goal was to do something for each season. Digital Dreams was our big summer festival, and we thought Brrrrr would be a cool idea to do for the winter. The success of Igloo Festival in Montreal inspired us to try and do something similar here for the people of Toronto. No one knew if it would work, but after last year’s success, we knew the concept was solid. DJ MAG CANADA: What was the attendance like last year? We had 6000 people turn up for Brrrrr Festival last year, spanning over 2 days. This year, Brrrrr Festival will be a one-day event, and we’ve already crossed those numbers with pre-sale. DJ MAG CANADA: How did people react to the weather? The interesting thing about Brrrrr is that you want it to be cold, but not too cold. Last year, we saw no one face any problems with the cold. Once you’re outside, you get used to the cold and it provides an incentive to keep moving your body. As a result, you find yourself dancing and we provide the perfect atmosphere for that. DJ MAG CANADA: What’s the Technodome going to be like? The Technodome will feature some great tech-house artists in a giant heated Igloo, accommodating around 1000 people. There are heated VIP enclosures on both sides of the stage and there will be various fire pits around the area where people can stand around. DJ MAG CANADA: What can we expect from the second edition of Brrrrr Festival in 2014? The talent we’re bringing in this year is new and dynamic. Most festivals feature an artist lineup that basically features everyone, but we wanted to mix things up a bit. We’re bringing back all the things that worked really well last year and we’re working hard on set designs, visual stimulation and components instead of just who’s playing. Like last year, we will be having winter-themed drinks like Mulled Wine and Hot Buttered Rum.
