August, work overload, huge event ARGH! That about sums it up as far as this month is concerned. As always lots on and things happening mainly preparing for what's set to be (or rather will have been by the time you read this) a huge event with Modular Meets Leeds. There's an interview (yay! was gutted things didn't happen in time for last time) with Mylar Melodies, plenty of news and bits to share. Everything underlined is a link so get interactive and click away!
As always I'm keen to shed light on some amazing bits of kit. Be they new and hyped up or an older classic and this month it's definitely an older classic. When I got into modular two modules were seemingly the ones YOU HAD TO HAVE! Make Noise Maths
(obviously) and the
Toppobrillo Sports
Modulator. The Sports
Modulator was unavailable
for a long time and I think
it dropped off people's
radar a bit. But having
recently got one in a
purchase highly fueled by
James Cigler's excellent
video it's become a bit of
favourite quickly. Click HERE for the video or hit play.
Just a couple of bits to share "from around the web" this month but a good couple of bits at that. First up here's another video looking at how rooms affect sound. This time it's from Sound On Sound magazine and while it's a bit speech heavy at the start (I'm aware I drone on in my videos!) you can skip to 4.11 to check out the
same drum kit,
same mics and
same drummer
playing in
different studio
spaces. Click
