WHY NOT SEAGULLS?
During the 1934 school year, the Ubyssey held two consecutive
votes for a team name. In the first vote, a joke candidate, the
Seagulls won. Following the second vote, the Ubyssey staff and
the Pep Club chose Thunderbirds.
