Washington St. Turn right (north) onto Hwy 371,
then make the first right onto Excelsior Road,

little East of Burgwald Road in Brainerd, MN.
FISHING BOBBER WATER TOWER
– Pequot Lakes
The City of Pequot Lakes is known as the “Home
of the Bobber,” and its old water tower reflects
that slogan quite literally. There’s an interesting
story behind the iconic landmark. The City was
ready to tear it down when a new tower went
up in recent years, but the Chamber promised to
make sure that it was well-maintained if the City
would let it stay, and it did.

To get there: Downtown Pequot Lakes, on the
west side of Highway 371, just north of Main
Street, Pequot Lakes.

You can get some great pictures of the giant
lumberjack at Paul Bunyan Land in Brainerd
when it opens again in May 2018. There you’ll
find a 26-foot-tall talking and animated Paul
Bunyan, which has been in the area for over 60
years. There’s also a giant Babe the Ox there.
Until the park re-opens, however, you can take
a selfie next to Paul’s giant size 80 boot prints in
what was once Paul Bunyan Amusement Center,
and is now the Kohl’s parking lot. They are right
next to the handicap parking spots.
