Sole Furniture’s founding Director has taken his experience and knowledge within
the industry and used this to implement a simple yet bold approach to the design
and manufacture process. Dean Watson spent 7 years studying design and cabinet
making, firstly as an apprentice and then as a degree student. Dean later spent 8
years as a designer and project manager for one of the leading suppliers of bespoke
furniture to the residential and commercial sectors. Driven to not only challenge
the industry standard but change it forever, he set up the business Sole Furniture.
With his proven track record: From gold medal in the UK’s National Skill Build
Competition as an apprentice, to a full page feature article ‘Talent Spotting’ in FX
Magazine as a student, to senior designer for one the UK’s market leading bespoke
furniture manufacturers. To winning the A Design Award with Sole Furniture’s
very first product. This is a man that not only loves what he does but excels at it.
