Running of the Mill Led by Steve Childers Take a guided tour of historic Abbott ’ s Mill . Learn about the unique history of the mill dating back to 1795 . Experience the rush of the water through the turbine and feel the rumble of the mill stones .

Naturalist Weekend programs Led by Abbott ’ s staff Explore nature through hands-on activities such as pond seining , crafts , guided hikes , and spontaneous trail discoveries . Each weekend features a different theme .

Beginning Bird Walks Led by Alice Mohrman Enjoy the autumn season on a walk in search of resident and migratory birds . Learn basic bird identification skills while exploring the stream , forests , and field habitats of Abbott ’ s and the Milford Millponds Nature Preserve . Binoculars available for use .

Sunday Critter Corner Led by Abbott ’ s staff Join our Weekend Naturalist every Sunday afternoon in our Wet Lab to learn about native wild animals on display at Abbott ’ s . Visitors will get to interact with and learn about snakes ( non-venomous ), turtles , frogs , toads , fish , and salamanders . Afterwards , enjoy a picnic or a hike on our pet-friendly trails .

2 nd Annual Run the Mill Trail 5K ( Run & Walk )

Come out and support our mission swiftly afoot as you take the trails . After the run , enjoy a well-earned Dogfish beer , some post-race grub , live music , and witness a “ literal ” running of our historic , preserved grist mill .
Antique Small Engine & Model T Show
