Justin is progressively changing our industry with his unmatched style and aggression to bend the fundamental rules of hairdressing. In his class you will be challenged to open your mind and explore your own natural talents and be uplifted to regain your inspiration as a true hairdresser. An insatiable new figure in the world of platform artistry, Collin Martin has been creating multi-functional cuts with a keen eye while employing unconventional 3D sculpting for the past 7 years. His peculiar approach to hair has, in the words of a colleague, “brought the avant-garde to the people.” Crediting his strong art background and over a decade of working with his hands, Collin has built, and demonstrates, a new philosophy concerning the inner workings of the haircut. From small classrooms to auditoriums, stylists along with industry personnel and enthusiasts have heard Collin’s voice, trembling with visceral excitement, as he openly dissects his approach to the structure of hair styles, his “construction process,” and the tools he uses to create finery for his exclusive clientele. Together we will discover the true meaning why we entered this industry by not learning HOW to cut hair, but by learning WHY we do. This is the why behind the how. Justin has been educated, trained, and collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry from Beverly Hills to New York and San Francisco. Hattori Hanzo Shears are used by many of the top stylist in world. Whether it’s the cover of Vogue, New York Fashion week, or Back Stage on Broadway you will find our shears going to work, making the world we live in a more beautiful place.
