444 PRE-CALCULUS 1.0 credit Prerequisite : Successful completion of Algebra II and Geometry with Trigonometry
This course is designed to be a strong fourth year math course with emphasis on applications and analysis of a variety of mathematical concepts . Ideally , a student will understand and be able to solve problems in major areas of study . These areas are : functions , vectors and trigonometry , inequalities , exponents and logarithms , analytic geometry . The student will also have knowledge of polar coordinates , parametric equations , and matrices . Admission to this course is ordinarily limited to seniors .
449 AP CALCULUS — BC 1.0 credit Prerequisites : 90 % in Pre-Calculus Honors with recommendation
This course is a first and second course of study in elementary calculus . Students will prepare for the Advanced Placement Calculus BC exam which could lead to an additional semester of college math credit beyond the Advanced Placement Calculus AB credit . In addition to the AB topics , students will study vector and parametric functions , their derivatives and applications , polar curves , additional methods of integration , sequence and series and convergence .

MUSIC COURSES :
122 CONCERT CHOIR IV 1.0 credit / full year commitment Prerequisite : Teacher recommendation ( audition )
Concert Choir is a mixed choral ensemble . A variety of musical styles and periods will be rehearsed , discussed and performed , and students will also work on vocal technique , basic theory , singing in various languages and performing several a cappella pieces to practice proper intonation . Dress rehearsals , all performances and concert dress are required .
123 BEGINNING ORCHESTRA 1.0 credit / full year commitment new !
General Orchestra is designed for students that have no prior knowledge of playing Violin , Viola , Cello or Bass . This course will develop students ’ technique for playing the above listed instruments and cover a variety of non-specified orchestral literature . Students will need to select one instrument from above and are responsible for their own instrument rental . There are several performance commitments during the year that students are expected to attend .
125 JAZZ BAND 0.5 credit / full year commitment Prerequisite : One year of playing experience on selected instrument
Jazz Band is intended to help students develop their techniques for playing brass , woodwind , percussion , and string instruments , as well as guitars and keyboards , focusing primarily on contemporary stage band literature styles , such as traditional jazz , jazz improvisation , and rock / pop . Students are responsible for their own instrument rental with the exception of drums / piano . There are several performance and competition commitments during the year that students are expected to attend .

127 COMMERCIAL BAND 1.0 credit / full year commitment new !
Prerequisite : One year of playing experience on selected instrument to include : guitar , piano , drum set and band / orchestral instruments
Commercial Band is designed to give students to ability to cover popular songs and compose their own . This course will use conventional or non-conventional notation and may include harmonization in addition to melody writing .
