Robert Weiman – Montana

Loving the outdoors and I've always been fascinated with animals. I’ve gaining
volumes of animal information along the ways through the years. Which in
time has led me to photography to share my visions? I grew up in the
backwoods of Wisconsin, with wildlife surrounding me and avid outdoors
man.

Life's journey landed me and my family in Montana. An obvious choice for me in beautiful surroundings in every direction! Often
exploring the back country of Yellowstone National Park, Grand Tetons National park and Glacier Park over the last 25 years. Finding
the animals and scenery off the beaten paths is the key! Lots of time and effort is easy when it's your passion. You just never know
what you will run! Any quality lens with mirror up and a wireless remote on a high quality tripod will bring results. Even to me a
person that learned everything by trial and error, not one photo class. The "Magic" hours, and great lighting, surreal looking clouds
and dramatic settings all lend to the standout images. Not many will sacrifice getting up early and staying out late the right
monuments especially away from the roads. When back home I believe post processing is a must when shooting digital in the raw
format. To achieve what you really saw with your eyes & your soul.
I strive to get a creative envisions in my mind before-hand and lots of planning and research. After spending a lot of time in the
outdoors scouting and patiently waiting for the brief 1/500th of a second to happen. What a great satisfaction in itself, let alone
capturing it with a camera forever to be share with enthusiasts. I‘ve published images in many galleries, magazines, calendars and
my website Wildlife-FineArt.ArtistWebsites.com. That gives me great rewards from inside. The desire to inspire others and also
myself! I quote, like they say, "Life is like a camera... Focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the
negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot".

Here is my piece. It is called Grizzly Cross Roads.
Specializing in wildlife and nature photography, Bears are one of my favorite subjects to seek. In general they are hard to
photograph well, because they seem to be always on the move. I find the best strategy is to find a safe place and wait in an active
area. This grizzly was crossing a rocky stream in the Yellowstone area in the autumn. Hyperphagia is a period of excessive eating and
drinking to fatten for hibernation. Grizzlies preparing for the winter ahead are active pretty much all day, so much more opportunity
to photograph.
