The Monsters
Within
This is a thrilling new show that
examines the very nature of good and
evil!
Based on the gothic novels The Strange
Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert
Louis Stevenson and Mary
Shelley’s Frankenstein, this electric
fusion of literature and physical theatre
breathes new life into traditional
grotesque creatures and villains and
entangles them with modern real-
world demons and virtual mobs to
unmask who the real monsters are.
This production has been brought alive
by Northern Ireland’s leading devised
theatre company, Curious Doings.

10 Years
Screaming at
the Grove
Scream Blue Murmur started off as a
poetry group travelling the globe,
performing in Australia, New Zealand,
Singapore, Malaysia, Europe, Canada
and the United States. Over a period of
ten years the group has shifted from a
poetry spoken word ensemble, to an
eight piece musical group playing a
unique blend of soul, jazz, funk and
groove, a sharp beat driven rhythm
section overlain with horns, keyboard
and flute.
As one of the first venues to host a
Scream performance, the group returns
to the the Crescent Arts Centre ten
years on and this performance will
consist of two parts – local musicians
and spoken word artists performing
selected works from Scream’s back
catalogue and a dance set by the group
in its present formation.
