in a Teacup Introduction to
Book Binding Give it a Go!
Life Drawing! Try the ancient art of beautiful writing
in Japanese! Learn how to write
common letters and sentences in
Japanese and create an oriental-
looking picture for your home. No
particular skills needed. After a series of demonstrations by the
tutor you will make a pretty table
arrangement in your own teacup using
seasonal flowers and foliage. All
materials will be provided but you will
need to bring a large teacup (not
giant) and some scissors or secateurs. Saturday 6 May

explore traditional and contemporary
techniques of folding, glueing, and
hand sewing for the creation of multi-
purpose books and paper sculpture.
You will be provided with a range of
high-quality papers in differing colours
and sizes, to create several bespoke
pieces to take home. £25/£23 £35/£30 This is a one – off workshop for those
wishing to try Life Drawing for the first
time and would like to consider a
session, before signing up for a full
course. It is also suitable for those who
feel they are a little rusty and would
like to refresh. Short and long poses
will be utilized. You will be encouraged
to try various approaches to drawing
the figure and offered support and
encouragement. The class is
undertaken in a friendly and relaxed
atmosphere and in a spirit of joy and

camera. Maybe it’s for getting better
holiday photos, a special event or just
to improve your photography skills,
this one day intensive course will cover
all the basics for getting great photos.
Including camera set up, modes and
menus, composition and framing tips
and photographic techniques to really
improve your photography skills. We’ll
also cover some basic editing
techniques for removing red eye and
saving and sharing your photos.
Students must bring a digital camera
to the workshop.
